This site is run solely by a rat fanatic and her boyfriend, located in Fremont, CA.

No, that is not her boyfriend in the picture.

Rachael has had rats practically her entire life, or almost for as long as she could independently care for her own pets. Before her brother brought home a rat from his third grade class while she was in fourth grade, Rachael had had pet hamsters since kindergarten. She immediately fell in love with Oreo, the big squishy boy belonging to her brother, and from then on has never stopped owning multiple rats (except for a terrible rat-less first year in the college dorms).

Her small mischief currently has only two rats, Anjie and Lizzie (photos of this new cutie coming soon!). (Donald, pictured above, passed away fall 2006. Ashton, the sweet girl in our logo, passed away in January 2007).

For the past few years she has become more interested than ever in learning about rat care and nutrition and started making her own food as soon as she learned how awful pet store food is. Ever since she started making her own food, she noticed a great deal of positive change in her favorite pets.

 

As we continue to learn more about rat nutrition, we will gladly update and edit the site accordingly.
